Crap, I just now found the email so I'm on pretty short notice. Hopefully it's still okay for me to be in? I'd definitely be interested if time permits.
 
You're still good to go. I mean you've got 5 weeks to shoot a 5 minute short--you don't need a second unit or ILM's involvment. :)

Bwaa-ha-haa... this should be interesting. I got some guys together and we'll get the script going on Monday... so if anybody else is getting a "late start" there's no excuses... just do it.

Since we all have seemed to caught the zombie virus, I have found a cool little online multiplayer grid based game, Urban Dead. It started at the beginning of the month and is updated everyday. You can create a character (military, scientist, civilian) of your choice that you wish to roam around in this quarantined area performing tasks that your character has the ability for. I've been playing for a few days. I started out as a military guy but was quickly dispatched by some asshole. One cool thing about dying though is that you can come back as a zombie and attack the survivors. I am currently following this guy around the city, good times! Anyway, you guys should check it out. As I said before it's grid based so all of the 56kers will be fine. www.urbandead.com

About the fest, I am sad to say I can not enter :( as for half of my always faithful crew are away on vacation. Some of the returning members and I might be able to squeeze something together around the mid of August, but I'm sure everything will be helter skelter and I don't like rushing on things like this. Good luck to the rest of you though! I can't wait to see some of your work.

Hudson, is your zombie saga still alive, Undead Nation I believe, or has it died?
 
I'll be representing the newbie portion to DVXuser competetions ... but I'm in ... cause zombies from wisconsin RULE.

But I'm trying to make it work too! I need makeup and a location, I have a script and people dumb enough to volunteer...

BTW, I am going to try to shoot it, for a couple of reasons: First I want to fit in, man you are all so cool with your framegrabs and stuff, and all my work with my DVX has been so far boring corporate and TV stuff... Anyway I want to be cool! Second, I'd never shoot a zombie film if it wasnt for this, so I might do it for the lifetime experience, and third, because there is a VERY slight chance of gettin some VERY COOL prizes! And last, I'm sick of watching only american footage! Let's get something else on the mix to shake things up!
 
We are in hopefully... if not then there will be a zombie script sitting on my computer waiting to someday be shot
 
Yeah, I was already writing a zombie feature so when I heard about this contest I was going to try to make my short somehow tie-in with the feature when it's completed, but I can't really think of a way to go about doing that now that I've started writing.
 
Jesus... this is going to be challenging. Maybe that's why it's a good uh... challenge.

I hadn't planned on writing my own script... but it seems like everybody I know just wants to take any other normal story and inject one or two zombies into it... and then call it an "orginal take guaranteed to win"...

How 'bout the Z-Team where each member is a zombie and they go around solving crimes... or maybe Teenage Zombie Lawyer... or how 'bout Dawson's Creek with a zombie love interest. Man I'm an original genius! No you're not... you're just spouting any existing program and replacing characters with zombies!

Welcome to my world right now... oh, and feel free to take any of those million dollar ideas.
 
Hey, I am not exactly a regular here, but I will try to come more often. Anyhow, I just got back from a film shoot in the middle of nowhere so I just found out about the zombie contest. I got excited and decided to shoot something for the contest. Count me in. I want that anamorphic adaptor, and I will get it! Good luck to everyone.

Im surely in , but i have one concern im from mexico so im making the script in spanish thats because of the actors they know english but i havent heard about a mexican english speaking zombie ! haha so should i put any subtitles ? anybody knows a software for mac that can handle it ?
