Cheapos: Good Bad Ugly

@Victor - at less than 2 cents per millimeter of effective focal length (I use my 5Star on a GH2) it must have been the cheapest lens on the planet - how could I resist?! But ironically, given the theme of this thread, I mainly bought it for shooting those cool 70s-style opening shots of the hero emerging out of heat haze as he walks down the highway. Or similar with Mad Max style muscle cars.

But here's a more suburban shot...



Neither @Rockmore nor I have a catadioptric (="mirror") version, so the bokeh is fine. By the way Rockmore, those last shots you posted are nice and I concede likely a little better resolution than mine. Enjoy the lens!

Here is an Olympus OM Zuiko 135mm f3.5 that is going for about $50. The only thing cheap about this lens is the price. A 135 f2.8 sells for around $100

The first shot is wide open @3.5
Next is closest focus distance @f8 with crop frames

That's extremely sharp. Wish I have gone with it. I got the Pentacon 135 f 2.8. The one with 16 aperture blade that has been called bokeh monster. It is extremely soft even though the bokeh is nice.

CANON 55-250 f4-5.6. IS.

Neutral 0,-4, -2, 0

Running shoe at 55mm with the f stop @ f4 / f11 / f22.
The shoe is a little flat because the sun was directly behind me filling in the shadows, and blowing out the white. I think this lens is at it's weakest at 55mm contrary to the reviews that it becomes soft over 200mm.
