So this is interesting. With a 20mm f/1.7 lens and some wide angle and tele converters you could have a 14mm 1.7 and a 40mm f/1.7. What are the main disadvantages to using converters vs. actual lenses? Distortion?

I'm curious; has anyone used any of these 62mm .45x wide angle adapters?

Here are some preliminary tests on the 14-140mm; it works as expected. Probably closer to .7x with the macro. You get the same barrel distortion you would expect from other wide angle converters when up close.
Zoom too far and you get this bokeh effect: http://i.imgur.com/saLoO.jpg
Yes, the macro lens is detachable if that's what you mean. Both the macro and wide angle lens can thread onto the 14-140mm individually. But without the macro, this wide angle converter is pretty much impossible to focus. I have yet to figure out how to get this thing in focus without the macro. Maybe somebody knows something I don't.
can you not manually focus or use AFC?
Mine does not work without the macro lens screwed. There are two modes: 1) Wide angle adapter with the macro lens screwed, and 2) the Macro lens alone on the lens for macro capability... AlAre there any wide angle adapters that can work without the macro? I'm curious

Are you saying the M.O. has three modes: 1) Macro only, 2) Macro with converter screwed in, and 3) Converter without the macro? If so, what do you get with each configuration? My Opteka does not screw onto the lens without the macro on... Alweird... the M.O. wide angle adapter can be used without the macro adapter... I wonder why this one has issues? anyone know.

There was a cheap wide angle adapter that was very popular with HV20 users, sharp enough, you could leave in on all the time. The Merkury or Digital Optics .45x, 52mm thread. They were on sale at a Pro Broadcast Video Surplus store on ebay for $8.50! I forgot all about it, then tried it on the Lumix 14-45. It wasn't bad at all. No vignetting at 14mm. Some softness in certain corners, but usable enough to hold off on buying the 7-14mm for a little while. I bought a more expensive Tokina last month, but it has heavy vignetting and was too fuzzy.
