C200: CFast compatability - Cards that support VPG-130

I don't know, it seems like the only difference between these cards is pure marketing, after buying unbranded products coming out of a Chinese factory, which is fairly standard in our industry. I can't see EgoDisk or Angel Bird or any other brand popping up in 2017 and all of a sudden having entirely unique R&D, manufacturing, and durability testing processes than other more established companies, especially for a super niche media product.

Anyway, if all things are being equal, the FreeTail cards are even cheaper than EgoDisk but seem to have similar specs and reviews.

Just a hunch, but perhaps buying these "same cards" from different brands is simply placing your bet on which company has rigorously tested their batch of cards enough to weed out the duds and only sell you the ones that will perform most reliably AND placing your bet on which company will be easier to deal with (kindness, clear and frequent communication, fair policies, etc).

So far in my experience EgoDisk has passed the quality test and is passing by with the bare minimum in all of the other categories. Given the massive price difference compared to the big name brands and the fact that a CFast card is basically a commodity, if they're passing the quality test, then that's good enough for me.

You're right, if they're all just buying unbranded cards, then the winner is the company who has the best support. Most of these brands don't even have a working website or email address. EgoDisk has a 3 year warranty. I bought one last night, will maybe try the FreeTail later on. Their website is slapdash, but they seem to be active on social and have US-based support (in Austin, Texas).

FWIW, EgoDisk was very responsive to me on Amazon and in direct emails with their tech support. I never asked where they were located but two or three different PMs on Amazon were a pleasant surprise.

I've interacted with Egodisk through DM's on Twitter and they've been very responsive. Also, their twitter profile says they're in New York City. That being said, their website sucks & their social media presence is pretty weak and every once in a while I get the feeling that sometime I'm communicating with someone that is outsourced support, but then it switches to someone from the company so it always ends well.

Does anyone have experience with Angelbird CFast 2.0 cards? How do they compare to EgoDisk?

Also, anyone here use the G-Tech CFast 2.0 card reader?

They're also trying to get into 3rd Party RED Mags and even faster CFast media, so they're more focused on things that will actually work at a high level in cinema.

I have been testing them the past week or so and they are great.
Been working on a short review which i will post tomorrow.
They are also going to release an dual card reader with a good software package
I have been testing a pre production model on usb 3,1 10Gbps and it is blazingly fast.

I've searched the forum here...and didn't see an answer to this question. I have two SanDisk Cfast 515 cards (SanDisk Extreme PRO 128 SDCFSP-128G-xxxB) Will these work with my c200 without issue. Running 4k 60fps...
They are listed on the canon uk site but not the US... (https://www.canon.co.uk/support/con...r_products/content/faq/?itemid=tcm:14-1591125)

Any thoughts? Apprecieate the help. I have some shoots coming up and don't want to risk it.

If they are rated VPG130, yes. If not, then no. The fact that Canon UK has them listed means they probably are.

I've shot a bunch of footage with Transcend 256GB card, not VPG130, without any problems. Even tried 34 minute takes a couple of times, no problem at all :) I ordered BIWIN 256 also and I will post results, bought it for $250. Yes, I live in Europe and to order Egodisks it would cost me more than $500 for 256GB :)

Is it the 650?
I have a 600 and I get errors at about 2:30.

The biwin do work but can sometimes drop below 130MB which will result in stopped recordings, the Biwin cards have a max recordingspeed of 265GB/s the egodisk and angelbirdcards perform a lot better.
For example the angelbird avpro 256GB have a max steady recordingspeed of 377GB/sec for 366,-euro excl. vat,and with that you get a lot better build quality and support
