CAVISION Rod System - RS-15IIMQR

I have ordered my T2i and its coming tomorrow and im looking for a compact and cheap rail system to go with it to support accessories such as a matte box and follow focus.

I'm looking at the CAVISION RS-15IIMQR - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6 ... ystem.html

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this one and what they think, but mostly, is it going to be possible to use a battery grip on my camera when its mounted on this and still be able to use a matte box and follow focus and have it all line up correctly?

Thanks

First off, your link is bad...

Anyway - I started with the "non reversed" version of this setup which isn't great for a DSLR. I'd give this one a try, but you'll likely need longer rods before long. I have a few Cavision parts on my DSLR rig, and I use their shoulder mount and handgrips - but then you want even longer rods. Jag35 is a good source for rods though.

It looks like you'll be able to access the battery door with that plate - that's a big deal to me, changing batteries without breaking down your rig. But (seriously) a few swipes with an angle grinder and a steel blade and about anything will work (I chopped up my DSLR baseplate for battery access).

The main issue with DSLRs on rods is height - make sure your follow focus will get under there with short primes, make sure your matte box aligns, etc.
