Cards for MacBook Pro

Hi.

Is there a firewire (800) card fit for the Mac Book Pro?
Is there some PCMCIA reader for the same machine?

FW800 cards, yes. PCMCIA readers, yes, if you count the Panasonic USB slot readers or the P2 Store. But there's not a slot adapter yet, although one is coming sometime soon.

It's expresscard/32 right? I'm searching for FW800, eSata, and standard PCMCIA for the MBP. And if anyone cans suggest a OTG drive for offloading P2 Media.

Anyone know where we can find them online?

:dankk2:

This is going to sound really goofy, but bear with me.
MAGMA makes excellent PCI (and PCIe) slots that you plug into your ExpressCard slot. That's right, a slot--free-floating. It's as though your notebook computer had the same slots that your desktop computer had, and you can plug any PCI card into it.

Now consider this: For $18 bucks, you can buy a PCI card for your desktop that enables you to plug a CardBus card into your desktop.
So... it's possible to buy that PCI card (CardBus), slide it into the MAGMA adapter, and plug the adapter into your MacBook's ExpressCard slot.
That means you can dump a P2 card into any laptop in existence, whether or not it has a CardBus slot.
If you don't mind looking really goofy on the bus.

Barry, one poster elsewhere stated that the duel systems ExpressCard/34 adapter won't ship until June, 2007.

Can you confirm that date?

Ive heard the same about the duel cards.. too bad.

remeber, the P2 store works as a USB card reader as well, albiet a little expensive for a card reader..

I'm pretty sure they got that date wrong, but I'll see if I can dig up the e-mail and ask 'em again.

I have to agree that the date doesn't seem right. That's over 12 months from now

I've also sent an email with no response.

Best wishes
