capture 1440x1080?

I thought this camera did 1920x1080? When I capture to Premier it shows 1440x1080. Do I have some incorrect setting in camera? or is it Premier Pro?

Unless you noticeably shot in a 4:3 aspect ratio in camera (the LCD would be letterboxed on the side) than I think it would have to be a capture setting with the program.

I have used both Premier Pro 1.5 and Vegas 8 to capture, both capture in 1440 width. The camera does not do the 4:3 ratio. It should be 1920. But I do not see what I have set incorrectly. There is no way to tell PP to capture 1920. I can only set it to HDV, and it reads what the camera is sending it. Is it Premier Pro 1.5 only does 1440? Do I have something on the camera set wrong? And Vegas will only capture it as an M2T file, not avi.

HDV is natively 1440x1080 not 1920. It's upscale to 1920x1080 during export. All the 1080 24p HDV camera does the same thing. The Sony EX will be the lowest price professional camera to offer native 1920x1080.

Thanks for clearing that up Jade. So one more question is, if I capture the footage, and want a picture like disjecta has posted do I need to uprez thru instant HD or something? Do most people just make it 720P? Cuz he has 1080P available for download, both look incredible.

Simply render as 1920 x 1080. It'll look fine. I don't do it often because most computers struggle to play 1080p smoothly.
