Can't view P2 clips on Powerbook

I got my HVX about a month ago, and I've got my fist big shoot with it coming up in about a week, so I decided to do a test run of the workflow I'd be using. Here it is:

Using a Powerbook, I transfer the contents of the full card to an external FW drive via P2CMS. At the end of the day I take the external drive back to the studio and transfer the contents to my main editing computer, a powermac G5, via P2CMS. I'm able to look at the clips using the P2 viewer, and I can also bring them into FCP just fine.

So technically everything works as it should. The problem is that when I'm in the field and I try to view the clips with the P2 viewer on the Powerbook, I get a blank white screen. I hear audio, but get no video. I have the latest P2 driver and the latest version of P2CMS installed. Is there something I'm missing.

Like I said, technically it's working, but I sure would like to be able to view those clips in the field. Any help would be appreciated.

Ah ha... that explains it. Thanks Barry!

The powerbook actually belongs to a buddy of mine and I'm pretty sure he runs Express on it, and not Pro. I'm not that familiar with Express, but I'm assuming it won't work. I don't know what version it it.

All it requires is the codecs to be in the QuickTime folder in the HD/Library.

Question is whether this is permitted if the laptop is owned by you
