C100: Canon XC10 Firmware Version 1.0.2.0

Great tip! This makes the camera all the more attractive to me. I'll have to reach out to Eric and see if he's holding a used XC10 at the moment.

Thanks again!

Has anyone actually got some images to show the HD lowlight improvement? What's the ISO limit for decent images when wide open at 2.8? How is it comparable to the C100 at 2.8? I can get good images up to 6400-8000 ISO with the C100. Can the XC10 get close to that so it could be used as a B cam at events and not just set ups with lighting or daylight?

Anyone know if the Transcend CFX600 cards work on the Canon 1DX Mark II for 4K at 24p?

I didn't see this question previously. You don't need CFast to record 4k at 24 or 25 fps. Like the 1Dc has done for years, you can still record 4k25 to normal CF cards. Look for the VPG65 designation for sustained, reliable recording. VPG65 means 65MB/s sustained write speed. My SanDisk Extreme Pro cards are marketed as 160MB/s (VPG65). So burst and sustained speeds are quite different.

I used a Transcend 1000x 128GB card with my 1Dc and it worked for a long time at 4k25 without a single issue, despite being only VPG20. After a year of use I started to see buffering issues.

CFast IS needed for 4k50 and 4k60 (unless you limit your clip to a few seconds—recording to CF cards are possible at 60 fps too, until the buffer is full which takes a few seconds).
