I have been corrected by Mitch Gross and Terry Nixon on the EOS C500 thread - Canon Raw and two 256 GB CD SSD's are included (plus, some other stuff too)... PPS. This just in - C500 AND Odyssey 7Q package is being offered for $18,000 (without Canon Raw, I assume).
i assume everyone on this board make a living out of your equipment right?. Price drop is nothing new. it is part of your business plan/budget. I expect to see this kind of complain from the hobbyist but for working pro member here? really?
I agree to a extent. All cameras purchased for work are investments. And investments are suppose to make a return. As long as your investment made a good return, or worst case broke even. Then there's not much to complain about as it's bound to happen and you made money from the investment. All cameras loose value as soon as you buy it. Just like a car. Resale value changes based on market demand. Just like a car. Companies have "end of year clearance" just like a car. Sure it sucks to wake up in the morning and see your camera dropped 4k in value. I feel you. But if you didn't expect it to happen, then it's on you. The c100 mark II was a big enough hint that it was gonna happen, the c300 should be next with a price drop to get rid of what's left in the inventory, as nab is coming and they should be revamping the c-line. Look at the bright side, something new and to look forward to investing into.i assume everyone on this board make a living out of your equipment right?. Write it off as a loss. Some of you guys need better accountants or maybe a business class or two.
Whats the alternative, bitching about it on film forums? Thats logic 101...I hope you understand that writing off a loss of $4000 does not give you $4000. That is accounting 101 and Business 101. Every single one of you should be disappointed by these price drops if you run a business. Yes, you do try to plan for these things and you hope it doesn't make the difference between success and failure but it certainly can. Money is money in business. You want to make sure it is flowing in the correct direction.

People have complained about Canon on these forums for YEARS now. Did that stop the price drop? Come to think of it, Canon coming down in price is a good thing. This 1Dc price drop was in the wind for months. So if somebody bought a 1Dc in the past 2-3 weeks, that is THIER problem. Not Canons. I would say to that person, "Go out and make a quick $4000 since you bought a camera to do such that".Nope. Making logical statements about their customer sentiments. That's reality 101. Considering Canon as well as many other manufacturers read these forums, I'd say its 1 method of customer feedback. I guess we could just never make any comments on forums. That would make an effective community.
