There's also some talk about the need to black balance after an ISO change, not that everyone does it, but that may be part of the reason it's not as easy to ride ISO on a C100.
Yes, I leave the joystick on the ISO most of the time. It works but if you are not paying attention or you move the highlight off the ISO accidentally, before you know it you are changing the shutter speed and you miss the shoot because you are trying to figure out why you cameras in not working right. Doing a black blannce after a ISO change is not piratical when covering a wedding. Whatever they need to do to make it work, they should do.
I've removed the shutter speed from the menu. That solves the problem of accidentally changing it.
I didn't even know you could do that. Great idea as a compromise solution.
I'm sure most dont do this, but Canon recommends black balancing the camera with the body cap on after ISO changes. I doubt they would add a quick change function with this recommendation.
Slid over. I want to dream too.I think auto ISO sounds great on paper, but I would probably not use it on this camera (C100). The 1/3 stop changes that Canon has programmed are way too clunky. I love the way Sony implements ISO changes on the FS series, it's in another league from the EOS-C line. ISO changes are smooth and gradual, no steps noticeable Auto ISO is fantastic on those cameras, but of course so much else isn't. If only we could blend the two lines into one - imagine 4K, great LCD, ergonomic & hand-holdable, EF lenses, great auto features, low noise, tack sharp image, AND SLO-MO! A guy can dream, can't he?
Am I the only one unsure of what the "Control Dial" is???
