Canon released a notice today about a issue with Canon C200 C200B Cameras with Firmware Version 1.0.3.1.00 installed:

https://texasmediasystems.com/firmware-notice-for-the-canon-eos-c200-and-eos-c200b/

Phenomena
Image quality degradation, such as color misalignment or edge distortion, may occur in the recorded footage when using the following combination of settings:

  • recording format XF-AVC
  • frame rate 59.94i / 50.00i
  • 1920×1080 resolution

Workaround
Users should use a configuration that does not include the settings listed above, although we acknowledge that this may not be possible for all users. Note: This Phenomenon only affects internally recorded footage. Output signals from the output terminals are not affected.

Affected Products
EOS C200 / C200B Digital Cinema Cameras equipped with Firmware Version 1.0.3.1.00 are affected.

Support
Firmware Version 1.0.3.1.00 has been removed from Canon’s Web site.

The new Firmware is scheduled to be released mid-June 2018.

That's the second funniest thing I've read today.*

Reminds me of the old joke:
Patient: "Doc. It hurts when I push on my finger like this."
Doctor: "Don't push on your finger."

*The funniest thing I have read, so far, today was a quote from the chairwoman of the Miss America beauty pageant stating, "We are not going to judge you on your outward appearance".

I actually don't shoot interlaced, it's horrible but I did have one client when I shot at E3 last year who requested it.

Yeah the only time I’ve shot interlaced Since the ENG days was with the OG C100 because that’s the only high speed it had. I can understand needing to output interlaced for a switcher, but I can’t imagine why I’d want to shoot interlaced nowadays on a cinema camera. But it’s good that the camera has the capability for any specialized applications I suppose.

Hard to believe they still haven't fixed all of the glaring operational and default issues in the firmware.

Sony, with one of the least optimal menu systems ever did a complete rewrite for the VENICE, taking ARRI’s example to keep it clean, simple, and easy to use.

C300 II has many design/usability issues too- easy to fix. Perhaps release open source firmware, similar to what was done for routers: https://www.flashrouters.com/learn/router-basics/what-is-dd-wrt. Or follow the cellphone model and create an App Store which would allow for replacement GUIs and added functionality. More revenue for Canon, developers, and better experience and value for users.

What happened to the C700 FF test charts and review? Did they fix the aliasing issue? No new videos or info since the official short film demo release??

I submitted to my editor, the article will be in the next issue and supposedly they will post the test chart and skin tone shots on their website. I can't post them before. I didn't see any aliasing issues in my tests. Canon will never open source firmware, they are the most conservative of the Japanese companies. I can't even get them to evaluate any of the new CFast cards for certification for C200 and C300 MKII, just not going to happen.
