C300: Canon ME20F-sh Sample Video

I'll make sure I'm sitting to hear the price. I don't understand why they haven't released something like this long ago.
 
Clearly this camera - Canon ME20F-SH is not meant for everybody. The price itself will elicit derision from people who can't afford it and will evaluate it based on other half-alternatives.

This is a specialised camera. For most of the people, this specialised nature of the camera is not required for their projects and way over their budget or clients ability to pay. So no need to bash it.

On Friday I signed an agreement with a State Government forest department in India and I was stumped by the suggestion of shooting such low light scenes. With my C300 I can't shoot nocturnal creatures without light. If I would have known then I would have quoted more to shoot with this Camera. Although availability is another question. Anyway, I am wiser now. If things continue to be good then I can hope to afford this low light beast next year. Else can continue to dream about this camera. It doesn't cost dreaming. :)

The way the technology is progressing, within next 4 years, this technology has a higher possibility of trickling down to other lower priced cameras. So buy cameras if you can recoup the cost now.

Thanks Canon! Let me know when you drop the flash file (and your "web optimised" 960x540 resolution) and I'll start checking your product videos…
 
Hypothetically, Sony could have made "just an HD" version of its A7s, with 2.2 MPX rather than 12. That way, you won't need the moon. The star light would suffice ... and be careful not to overexpose Alpha Centauri.
