Just received my new G30, LOVIN' it so far !! A huge step up compared to even the high end DV tape based cameras of a few years ago. I purchased this camera to work along side my 5D Mark 3 and Mark 2 for multicam live music events. With my 5D's I typically shoot 24p to get the most out of shutter speed which gives me the highest quality image. With the G30, there appear to be multiple options for recording format (AVHCD vs. MP4), bit rates (35Mbps for AVHCD and 28Mbps for MP4 are the highest, but for this you only get 60p. If you want 24p, you must go to a lower bit rate, which might not matter given there are less frames per second), and frame rates (60p, 60i, 30p, 24p). My first priority is getting the highest possible quality of image out of my G30. What combination of format, bit rate, and frame rate will achieve this? Secondly, I want to make sure I choose the best combination that will edit well with my PC/Premiere CS 5.5 set up, considering I am mixing with 5D footage shot at 24p. My PC is a couple of years old, with no RAID, SSD, or CUDA to speak of, so two or three streams of DSLR footage starts to chug pretty bad. Your help and insight as far as optimal settings for my G30 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Gene
