Canon ENG B4 Lens on GH1

any selling their b4 adapter?

I missed the boat on this one. Anyone selling their adapter?
 
I have Canon J15x9.5B4 KRS II Lens from one of my old broadcast cameras that is still in good shape. It has a bayonet mount. Any chance of a successful, working connection to my GH1? It is an SD lens but no 2x extender.

If you mount correctly it should focus well. With the new teleconverter function on the Gh2 it would probably function fairly well (although more tele than the intended range of the lense). My 2/3" c-mount zoom actually covers the sensor pretty well as is (full coverage except for dark corners with some settings). It's good enough to crop 720 out of 1080, certainly.

As noted by others, there is some chromatic aberration because the lens is made for 3 chip ccd cameras. I don't consider it too bad on mine, personally.

I swapped the b4 mount on mine with an m42 mount, but it was a lot of work and it still isn't perfect. Fun project, though.
 
Since my ENG lens does not have a 2x extender, I would not be able to cover the entire sensor area. Can a 2x extender be added to allow for that, and if so, what, if any, problems will I have?
 
With GH2 and AF100/101, I'm sure more people would wanna get B4 to FD adapter.

bumkichoi, any plan to get more adapters? If it's too much work, why doesn't the machinist become ebay seller? I'd buy one from him.
 
So actually for serious video work which require zoom and run and gun type shooting with focus lock a b4 type lense is almost essential ? It seems like with nikon camera lenses the focal range is very small when i am shooting video although the only lense i have is the 20mm pancake

I've enjoyed my BumKi B4 adapter for months... now I'm finding I can't take it off the FD-m4/3 adapter (the front ring screws off but I can't turn the back ring to save my life...) Any tips?
 
Yes, that has happened to me. You may have tightened it up pretty good. I had to put the mount back on the lens and I wrapped a thin lens cloth around the mount and took a monkey wrench to loosen it from the FD mount. Honestly, my suggestion is to keep the BumKi B4 adapter on the FD mount permanently and just get another FD-m4/3 for your other lenses. The ring to tighten on to the FD mount is pretty thin so when it's on there good it's very difficult to remove. Good Luck!

Yeah, that'd be easier to do if I didn't love putting FD teleconverters on my B4 lens so much to get supertelephoto stuff like this...
Now I have to borrow a monkey wrench to get it back on there... oh how I miss shooting at 1,200mm...

Wow! That's crazy I see now. I'm going to try the FD teleconverter on my adapter as well. I have a 2x FD teleconverter. Will have to try it out. Thanks for the pics!
 
I may manufacture another batch of five adapters soon. Please pm me if you are in purchasing one. By the way, someone is going to try his B4 lens on AF100 using this very adapter soon. Exciting!

B4 to Nikon seems like a better idea. Nikon F mount is popular as Ai-s lenses have F mount. Future mirrorless systems will support F-mount for sure. Also Nikon adapters are better built. Canon FD adapter... darn... mine got stuck with Vivitar lens. I can't get it out.
 
I'll purchase a b4 to nikon if they are available. if not i'll take the b4 to fd. Where do i paypal to?
