Canon ENG B4 Lens on GH1

Can the poster on the first post please copy this list to the first post ?

How do we make this a sticky ?

On this topic, what is the difference between B3 and B4 mount ? I may be able to get a few lenses and am thinking of using the epoxy method.
If I understand this right, the B4 flange distance is 48mm and for m4/3 its 20mm. So I need to add a 28mm padding.
Whats the equation for B3 ?

I'm glad to hear that! I will check if I can supply +12V to zoom handle and get functional zoom servo. Also, I would like to connect "REC" button to GH1 movie button.

This is just mind-boggling if it works. 600$ body and old lens gives 17-238mm in full glorious HD :D Few years ago it would cost a small fortune.

Aloha Grunf, any luck with powering the zoom servo? I was looking in to doing that also, but could not find any pinout charts for the lens.

Hi bumkicho. Any reason why you are selling ? I thought this setup was the sweet spot at this time.

zcream, I love the lens setup. I do. But I am getting a bit tired of carrying my dream hobby (movie making) alone. Where I live, I just don't find anyone that has the same interest and desire in movie making. I spent a lot of time and efforts to set this up with the hope to use it for story telling, but the reality is quick photo ops, a simple event shoot, intervews, etc. Well, let's just say this is more of a dream setup than what I practically use.

Sorry. I wasn't thinking straight last night. I love this setup. No sale of this lens setup unless I pull a Brett Favre tonight. Too good to keep it around? Was I drunk?

Good for you bumkicho - yes I think you were not thinking straight - lenses are supposed to be BOUGHT, never sold :-D

:-) I bought 6 B3 lenses and got 2 B4 lenses to play with yesterday. I intend to replace the mount with a 27-52mm step down and then add spacers and reversing rings to use.
Alternatively a 37mm Cokin A filter adapter may also work.

I intend to make holes and use the screws in the old mount instead of epoxy as I want the mount to be level. Pics later.

Ha ha, lvlinux, sure! How's your lens selling business going? ;)

zcream, good luck with your setup. Let us know how it goes.

I took my lens setup out to a local park after lunch. I just love what this setup lets me do.

Five B4 to FD adapters will be manufactured by the end of September. Two are taken and three are still available. Please pm me if you would like to get one.

Since a couple people who showed great interest in purchasing one, have not replied to my messages for two days, I would say two adapters are still available. If anyone else is interested, please pm me.

A good news. The adapters will be ready to be shipped on September 17th at the earliest.

Thanks again for going out of your way to do this Bumkicho!

You didn't have to but you did!

Good news everyone, I contact John Huffman at jonyjib.com and he can build the cable from 12 pins to different power connectors to power the zoom servo; in my case I want Cigarette Jack Connector so i could plug to those cheap Bescor battery. He is asking for $125 and I asked if he could do group buy with lower price and waiting for him to reply.

All adapters are sold. No more adapter will be available any longer. I am not saying never but not for a long time.

Do not pm me about when one will be available in the future. Do not paypal me your money unless you feel generous and want me to have it.

kyc,

That's good finding. I personally have no issue using the lens manually, but I know there are people who have been looking for it because some have asked me about the power option.

All adapters have been shipped out this morning. Please check your PMs or email for the shipment tracking info.
