16mm on the 7D will give you a diagonal angle of view of 80°. That's pretty darn wide (but not yet ultrawide).
Those numbers sound about right.Here's how Ken Rockwell defines it for 1.6x cameras:
Ultra-Ultra Wide = 7 - 10mm
Ultra Wide = 11 - 13mm
Wide = 15 - 21mm
Normal = 28mm
Not sure which ultra-wide I will get, if at all.
I'm beginning to think it's "none at all" for me and the ultra-wides. I've been looking at my D90 and the kit lens and I've just about concluded the 20mm EF 2.8 USM is all the wide I'll need for video on the 7D.
Tokina AT-X Pro 165: 16-50mm F2.8 constant.Might be very useful though, at the same time, but i would get more use out of, say something tha goes between the range of appx: 16mm to 22mm, and hopefully something better than F4 constant.
