C100: Canon Cash-Back while NAB-Show?

Hello,

First of all, thank you guys very much for all your discussions, I've enjoyed reading them for month now and they helped me very much for chosing my Camera. I am from Germany and I am under the impression that Canon fell out of love there, if I would ask about pro and cons to buy a C100II in the german forum, they'd kill me within seconds :D

But since I have you guys and what you say made very much sense in my ears, I have decided to buy a C100II. In this forum somebody said something about Cash-Backs while NAB (or after??). Does anybody know about that? When would be a good time to buy a C100II? I am a student (well, not for much longer but still) so even a 500€ drop of the price would be very welcome.

And I know you guys always say to just do the math and think about if you would make the difference in price in the time until it drops in price, but I will for sure not. I am planning to build a reel and a portfolio with the camera, so paid jobs are not going to be there any time soon.

Thank you very much for your time and I hope maybe somebody knows anything :)

If you do not get cash for your job , so maybe is better to get second hand c100 or even cheaper something else , you do not sound like someone rich , you rather sound like someone completely new in this market . Any way good luck ,if you find good price share with us . Me too try to find c100 cheaper , in USA price drop down 1000$ in Europe still nothing :Drogar-Mad(DBG): Canon wake up !!!

I bought a C100 Mark II in February and I love it. I haven't heard anything about NAB duration cashback on it. I can't see them doing that, as a brand new product. But I have to agree with tom. I'd highly recommend going with the C100 used or even new. Most people finishing up university and going into their career would barely be able to afford a GH4 and a lens or two. That you're able to is awesome. But still, I would recommend saving some money and going with the C100.

There are some current specials on B&H but it may not apply to the EU market. (I.e., the EU retailers may or may not have similar specials going)

Hello,

thanks for your thoughts. I already have a DSLR (Canon 650d) and I have worked with a Gh4. After I've decided to make this my career choice I got some Jobs and worked for 3 month to afford the c100II (or an equally good alternative). I think the C100II will be ideal because I can operate it alone and even have the help of the DAF for certain situations. I also think that I wouldn't feel as confident with a simple DSLR (I know one can do amazing work with it). In Germany the C100 DAF with Zacuto Viewfinder goes for 4600 and the c100II for 4800, so I do not really see any point in choosing the C100.

The C100 Mark II is a great camera. Really what the C100 should have been from the beginning.
