Canon Financial will honor Film & TV sales tax exemptions offered by states like Texas, California, Florida, NY, and NJ. Canon does business in every state.

If you already have equipment insurance you don't have to buy the insurance offered by Canon through Great American Insurance Group. We've had a couple of customers recently get new replacement cameras paid for by Great American when their cameras for damaged or stolen.

This is a business lease with a $1 Buyout. You own the camera out right when you pay the camera off.

Terry, do you know if the built-in timecode port will receive timecode from an external device or do you have to buy the EU-V1 expansion unit in order to receive timecode (via genlock)? I'm not totally sure I've heard someone say definitively one way or another.

Canon C500 Mark II Accepts Time Code

Hey Chris,

Yes, the C500 Mark II TimeCode I/O port can lock to an external source or output the C500 Mark II TimeCode to external devices. The EU-V1 Expansion Unit is not required.

Corrected Link to Canon Europe that describes the Time Code on the C500 Mark II as "Time code BNC jack (input/output, Camera Body)"
https://www.canon-europe.com/video-cameras/eos-c500-mark-ii/specifications/

Hey Terry, it looks like you linked to the original C 500. In reading that same page for the C 500 Mark II I’m still unclear as to whether the expansion unit is needed to receive time code from an external device

Thanks for clarifying Terry! Really appreciate it.

My last C200 payment is in January (bought 2 of them from you guys) and I can feel the tractor beam pulling me in on a C500MKII three year lease. Will continue to mull it over for the next month or two.

We've discussed this before, but good job laying that out there for everyone to see clearly. When I bought my CN-E primes many years ago, I went with the 0% Canon financing deal, but what no one disclosed in a plain, upfront manner was the insurance that Canon tacks on automatically(at least then), UNLESS you opt out by providing proof of coverage from your insurance company. They got me for about two months worth before I knew what was going on and could stop it. I don't remember if I was able to recover any of the money or not.

You have 60-90 days to provide proof of insurance to Canon Financial Services.

Once you provide the insurance, CFS says that Great America will go back and refund insurance related charges that have been paid.

Hi Chris,

I was able to find the C500mkII manual here:
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/...inema-eos/cinema-eos-c500-mark-ii?tab=manuals

And here is part of the info on Page 96:

So it looks like the C500mkII is cool with external timecode.

Terry, those lease promos are appealing.

Canon C500 Mark II RAW Light Requires Sandisk 512GB CFexpress Card

As a reminder, Canon is saying that the Sandisk 512GB CFexpress Card is the only card that has been tested and qualified by Canon to work with the C500 Mark II.

The 256GB, 128GB, and 64GB size CFexpress cards do not meet write speed requirements for Canon RAW Light.

The C500 Mark II will includes one Sandisk 512GB CFexpress card and reader inside the C500 Mark II box.

512GB 1400 MB/sec
256GB 1200 MB/sec
128GB 1200 MB/sec
64GB is only 800 MB/sec

Cinema Raw Light = 32min @ 5.9k
65 min @ 4K
270 min @ 2k

XF-AVC
80min @ 4k 60p
165 min @ 4K 24/30p
215 min @ 2k 60p
425 min @ 2k 24/30p

Hey Terry, is it possible to order a C500 Mk II with the locking EF mount as standard, or would that have to be a additional add on? Also, do you know if the EU-V2 will be available with a gold mount?
