Canon C300 Mark II EF to PL or PL to EF Lens Mount Conversion

Canon C300 Mark II EF to PL or PL to EF Lens Mount Conversion

I'm hearing about $1500 or less to get the lens mount converted on the C300 Mark II from EF to PL or PL to EF.

I'm guessing this process will be similar to the Cinema Zoom Lens Mount conversions that Canon Service offers.

Once the converted C300 Mark II and spare lens mount is returned from service, you'll be should be able to have your own lens tech re-install the old mount.

ETA September 2015?? Long life to the C300 then...

Questions for our resident Canon dealers:

- What is included with the camera (charger, batteries, mic holder, the new audio module, etc...)
- Can Long-GOP 50Mbps be recorded to the SD card?
- Is the 50Mbps Long-GOP 8 or 10bit?

A lot of networks now have there infrastructure base on 50Mbps MPEG-2 so, having somewhat 50Mbps compatibility will be a key factor to decide to upgrade or not.

A behind the scenes look at the making of Trick Shot, the first film to be shot on the EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera. Director Evan Kaufmann, Director of Photography Gale Tattersall and others share their impressions of working with Canon's new EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera.

I thought the "Letters" footage was quite nice. I would really love to see what it looked like before youtube compressed it down. Even on youtube, though, I was impressed.

What I was not impressed by was the accompanying XC-10 behind the scenes video. To me, it felt like the drop in quality going from the C300mkII to the XC-10 was similar to the drop in quality from a C300 to a Canon DSLR. It just looked ugly in 4K. The overall resolution was much worse. There was a very noticeable drop in resolution going into slomo. Also, unforgivably, the fixed lens was exhibiting some fairly bad chromatic aberration. "Letters" made me want to shoot on the C300 MKii even more and the behind the scenes actually persuaded me not to want to shoot on the XC-10.

Bloom's graded footage definitely gave off a blackmagic feel to me. I think the autofocus on this cam is the only thing keeping me seriously intrigued.
