hey terry, just so i'm clear, the first time modfication is $2170, from the regular EF to positive lock EF? then anytime after its $500 bucks to switch back and forth?

and if i am reading it correctly, you have to pay the first modification to canon either way, then after that any technician can do the mount swap back and forth? would it be the same cost for the rental house technicians to do it or can the individual do it himself after the first mod? seems like canon will milk us dry in the long run if we do this back and forth...

Yes, after the initial mandatory mod and cost of $2170, any technician can perform the mount swap with the mount and shims returned by Canon.

It's unlikely for EF owners to exchange back and forth from EF to EF-Cinema Lock. Maybe EF to PL, then back to EF.

I'd look at this offer from Canon as a way for Rental Camera owners to expand their inventory options.

EF-Cinema Lock option for the C300 Mark II is only available as a service upgrade option.

There are no plans to offer another C300 Mark II sku with EF-Cinema Lock new in the box.
