C300: Canon C300 III AC Power Cable?

Thanks for all the help here. The V-Mount battery charger is a swell idea. I could use a better V-Mount charger anyway.

I'm using these two paired together with my C300mkIII:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1374730-REG/core_swx_xlr_mf10_4_pin_xlr_male_to_4_pin.html

The charger is just 430g.

(primarily using to charge my v-mounts but serves equally well for AC)

I'm using a Core SWX GP-X2 instead of the IDX, but the same cable to power a C500 MkII. I'm having a lot of trouble with the 4-pin XLR plug, once connected to the camera, I can barely get it out again as the locking mechanism is not giving me enough movement. I plan to either solder a Neutrik XLR plug onto the cable or just remove the tip of the metal of the lock by rasping it down a little. I had similar problems with the plug of a Core base plate with a build in 4-pin XLR cable (VoltBridge was nice, though). Do you have a similar challenge with your cable?

Kind regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,

I just pulled my copy in and out a few times. Seems to be fine - not difficult to get in or out. That said I haven't really battle tested it - I always use battery power so I only bought it as a contingency.

After reading this thread I reached out to CVP to see what they recommend and they pointed out this from Hawk-Woods - https://www.hawkwoods.co.uk/Cine/P/PS-90. £120 and will most likely require an extension cable as its pretty short at 1m but seems like a good price compared to some of the alternatives.

I own this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CVWZKCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And have it to 3 femail 4pin XLR tails. With an purchase of some 4pin XLR cables it will run many things (usually 2 at once, but not many more)
-led panel lights
-my moco system
-monitors
-surely these cameras

Having 4 cables I can also use the cables in series and run one thing a long way from the supply

I also have 4pinXLR to female Dtap

Its a (12v high current) system I have developed and also I can go offgrid by replacing it for 12v leisure (20kg?) batteries.

As it happens Im struggling with 14v and my C200.

I may need to employ something like this..
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DJ47HGZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I go down to 5v for usb to power movi mimic and tilta focus using similar but smaller transformers.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like my camera's connector is a little out of spec, as in my case, I really need to apply brute force to get the plug out again - but only with the Core SWX equipment, Neutrik plugs work nicely.
