C300: Canon C300 Auto Focus Feature Upgrade Announced by Canon $500, ETA May 2014

I'm Liking the dual pixel AF on the C300, so my next question is when can we have it available on the 500?

That said, I don't rely on the AF that much when I am actually shooting but it does come in handy to grab a quick reality check once and a while. I did use the continuous function once and while it has its limitations, it can do an amazing job in the right circumstances.

With all of the Mōvi (and similar) shooting going on at the moment, I'd say the AF-upgrade is pretty significant. I would be all over it if I still had my old C100 (or a C300).

But as stated above, we need a quick in-and-out-of-the-function button on the grip.

With the addition of the AF function to the C series cameras we really do need another button on the grip. The grip might become one of those funky game controller thingies with more buttons but, please just one more button!

I would have loved another button in the grip of my C300. I had earlier programmed the 7 button to magnification as I wanted to see it properly and focus. Now that the Dual Pixel AF is there, I had to reprogram the 7 button on the grip to AF lock. Anyone uses a Zacuto grip instead of the canon side grip?

I understand your request about C500 DPAF. If I had the C500, I would have also asked for it. Having a feature is good. It is upto the person to operator to switch it on or not.
