Canon 85mm f1.8. Anyone???

I'm intrigued by the Canon 85mm f1.8 for the 7D.

Anyone use this lens and what do you mostly use it for? I'm assuming portraits. On the 7D, this is quite long, do you guys find 85mm to be useful?
 
I have it and it gets the least amount of use of my lineup but it is also my favorite lens. For me, I have to use it on a tripod, no handheld mount but the image is fantastic for close-ups, portraits, and dramatic bokeh.
 
Have you looked at the Rokinon 85mm 1.4? I got to play with it a few weekends ago and found it quite nice to work with and the imagery is amazing. I think you'd be very pleased with it. Plus it's around $100 cheaper than the Canon.
