Canon 7D shooting at pool?

I have an event that needs to be shot at a pool, would it be safe using the 7D there?
Thanks and the pool is indoor.

Depends. Are you going to drop it in the pool? Either way someone should be covering it with insurance if you want any peace of mind. If it's like the Canon bodies I'm familiar with it should be fine otherwise.

A short safety wire attached to the camera and around your wrist is your best insurance. Unless you fall into the pool yourself.

Its weather resistance should shield it from the high amount of humidity common in indoor pool areas. I'd keep a clean cloth handy and wipe it down when done just as a precaution.

thats what im worried about, the humidity. It'll be on a tripod up on the 2nd level stand, no way to fall in the water.

I think you should be fine. Be on location early and let all your gear (body, lenses, etc) adapt to the humidity and/or temperature change slowly. This will help prevent some gnarly lens fogging.

you'll be fine

shot a doc on Michael Phelps as well as a bunch of swimming videos with DVX, HPX, 5D, and never had a problem with humidity. We were even shooting in Texas on one occcasion, must have been 100 degrees at the indoor pool with 95% humidity and never had a problem. good luck!
