Canon 7d battery grip

So the official Canon battery grip is going for $180 on Amazon, OR I could spend $103 and get the "Zeikos" battery grip:

It has good reviews, o I'm wondering if I should save the cash and go for it. Anyone here personally used it? Normally I'm notone to skimp on costs to get something lower quality, but with the savings I could get a grip and a new 32gb card for the same price as the Canon. Just wondering if it's worth the savings. About the only downside is I'm thinking the weather sealing between the grip and the body might not be as good as the Canon version, which won't be a huge deal for me in 99% of situations. Any thoughts?

EDIT:

Sorry, after a quick search I realized this has been discussed before, but that post had few hits and no other real info, plus it was a month or two ago. So, hoping maybe someone has had some use since then... Sorry if this thread is redundant.

I recommend trying one in a store to see how it feels. If you don't need the double batteries in there, there's no other compelling reason to get a grip, unless you've got hands the size of Kareem Abdul Jabbar's feet. :D

On my 450D, the grip added the heft and, well, grip, I needed. After holding the 7D once, I knew there was no such need.

i'll probably buy one for my t2i to add a little bulk, and usually I dont have time to charge and change batteries, I need my sh*t to last all day. Can't you also fit AA batteries in most of the handles?

I'd personally go for the Canon one. You're sure it will work well, communicate well, fit well, feel well, etc...

Stuff that actually plugs into the camera, yeah, I'd spend an extra $80. Although, I just got a 32GB 133x card myself and yeah, its a heckuva lot nicer size wise than the 8GB cards I was shooting with.

i think one great benefit of a battery grip on the t2i would be (if looking at the design of it is any indication) that you can change batteries while it is mounted to a tripod plate.

Currently the door will not open when attached to my tripod plate and it becomes time consuming to change batteries. I plan on getting a 3rd party grip once they are out on ebay.

Well, I bought a cheap eBay grip for my 7d in order to raise the cam on my Varizoom shoulder mount. Unexpected surprise: battery power readout from generic batteries!

at op:

it sure is gonna make it look more professional , but I dont use one.

you know you need to post a link !

The box says Aputure. I'd guess it's better to make sure it's made by them instead of going to a particular seller because sellers' suppliers can change. I paid $58.95. Delight-digi was the eBay seller.
