My question is. I will be shooting video (Paintball) with the 7d. I will be using a tripod. Subject are fast moving. Am I wasting money on the IS?? Or should I just get it with out it..and save the $$ ??

Thanks..new to DSLR's...Thanks

I'd keep the IS - I shot with a 70-200mm 2.8 IS on tripod and the lens is heavy. Its definitely no picnic and though its true that having IS on when on tripod sometimes fights with the tripod, I really didn't find that the case when I used it.

I say its better to invest in it just in case. You don't want to have a situation come up where you DO need it and go damn, why didn't I buy the IS version..
