Hi Guys.

I have a question about your preset for recording with Canon 60d. I've shoot a wedding with this camera and on my monitor everything looks great. But when i burned Blu Ray disc, colors on my LCD TV are too saturated, specially skin color doesn't look naturally. Generaly I am not satisfied enought. Like I said it looks awesom on computer's monitor. Can you tell me which color profile do you use during recording movie? Thanks for help.

A lot of us feel the default STANDARD picture style is too "vivid". If that is the picture style you used, do some test footage with the picture style set to NEUTRAL. Burn a DVD and see how that looks on your TV. If that is better but still not where you want it set you camera to User Defined 1, base that on NEUTRAL and take the CONTRAST and SATURATION down one or two "notches" (I have mine set for two "notches" down from midpoint.

The other thing to pay attention to is your TV "settings". Use a DVD you've burned from camcorder footage (not the 60D) that you feel the colors are accurate (or use a commercial DVD movie) and check to see how you like the way your TV presents that color.

It may be that SATURATION and CONTRAST (along with SHARPNESS) on your TV are set too high. Many sets come "out of the box" this way because the manufacturers think that's what people want. Every new TV I've bought for the last several years had to have those parameters "pulled back" before I was happy with the way movies especially looked.

Good luck.

Thank you. I was doing tests today with standard profile, with saturation and contrast down and it is much better. I have to do some tests with neutral profile like you said. Thank you for your help. Did you use maybe cine style profile? If yes did you apply lut buddy?

What do the Scopes on your NLE tell you? IS footage hot or in something getting bumped up in the transcode to BR

What are scopes. Sorry but english is not my native language? I think there is no problem with transcoding. When i plug my camera directly to tv it is the same. I use fcp.

Play the raw files to the tv to see how they look is the way to go via hdmi or card reader,no pc monitor or tv look exactly the same,i found neutral was best on my canon ,keep making blu rays dvds are a a thing of the past lower than mini dv quality.
