HI all, Im thinking about purchasing a Canon 50mm 2.5 Macro for my T2i. It is an older lens, and the only real complaints I have heard are about the focus being slow, especially in low light. Other than that, the Still photogs seem to love this lens. Many say it is sharper than the 1.4 USM. A few have even suggested it rivals the L series 50's. I need a good interview lens for talking heads, this kit lens isnt cutting it and Im tired of focus rings that make my image jump too from sloppy construction.
It seems my options are the 100 dollar all plastic Nifty50 1.8, or jumping in at the 400+ dollar USM 1.4. I have this available for around 250 bucks. It seems like a no-brainer, but then again, I never suggested I had a brain in the first place. Any feedback is welcome. I dont know that being this is a Macro Lens, if there are any serious drawbacks. It is not a dedicated Macro.
