GH4 Canon 10-22mm no fit. Help me mod?

Long story short, I can't use my Canon 10-22mm like I want with 2 out of 3 adapters. The strait trough adapter works fine, the LENS TURBO and one with an aperture both get blocked from snapping on by the black plastic thing on the lens. I discovered I can peel off the light grey ring around it, but the black plastic protrusion will sticks in to deep, unlike most of my other lenses.

Anyone mess with modding their lenses to fit better? Any advice? It might just be a dust block or something, but the glass in the back is inset deeper, and the plastic part seems pointless.

I wouldn't "mess" with it. I'd send the lens back (if just purchased), or sell it, or something besides trying to "change fit".

I'd replace it with the Olympus 9-18mm (oh, I don't have to. I already have it). So you'll lose the "lens turbo" boost (if it has that) and I don't trust the adapters with aperture. But the Oly 9-19 is a "native" m4/3 lens and works as it should. The high ISO performance of the GX7, GH3, and GH4 help out a lot here.

Right. The "S" meaning STICKS OUT FUNNY or STUPIDLY DIFFERENT. :D What would it matter if I removed the back plastic? I just need a couple MM for a perfect fit. Optically, it won't mount any differently distance wise, and it works fine with the plain adapter

That is PERFECT!!
And too much work. I'll just live with it. I was hoping I could SIMPLY pop off the back plate and it would be fine. Not so much. :D
