Well Ronster,
If you've done your research and search the eff'n forum you'd know that this sh!t wont happen.
Besides,
-there is already threads about this crap the same time 60d was announced
-the 5d already got the manual audio update
-the 1Dmk4 cost 3-4 times as much as your stupid @rse 7d that you are b!tchin about; yet it did not get manual control (however the 5d, cost half as much, did)
-you bought the camera already, now you are b!tchin some more after you've owned it. Canon did not state they would give you the manual, yet you still bought it.... wtf?
-if you want manual control, buy a camera where it is listed on the option
-why would/should the 7D get manual when the 1Dmk4 did not? Do you think your 7D is more deserving than a 1Dmk4?
-you argument is annoying and baseless; in the scenario of the camera op and the client; (YOU) the client pays for 5 hours of footage but later b!tches about wanting 6 hours for the same price
Also, the 7D has full hdmi out while recording, the 60D does not...
Please don't start another thread complaining about the 60D not having full hdmi out when the 7D does.
The 5d came out with 30p and then the 7d came out with 23.98. 5d owners complained in heavy numbers to the very number and email I just posted. Within a few months they got a firmware update that allowed the 5d to also shoot 23.98.
There is no reason they can't release a firmware to give us manual audio...[/QUOTE said:Yes there is. It's called they want you to buy another Canon. That's the reality. These cameras go out of date after 6 months. You may want to take the downgrade to the 60D and get audio and the adjustable monitor. Your 60D will loose the same value over the next 6 months as you declining 7D value which has almost expired already. You can sell these cameras within 6 months and loose the least value.
Don't take this the wrong way, but you will spend a lot of valuable shooting and editing time trying to push a giant elephant (Canon) that may or may not move. Look at all the time wasted on the 500D, the elephant didn't budge on that one. I followed that saga for the better part of a year and relentless cry for help is comical now looking back.
Take your loss, get the camera you need, move on, shoot something today, sell that one tomorrow and get the next one.
The reason....... they will lose sales .
