Hey everyone... I'm back with a last minute entry.

Why last minute?

Well, I would have had a film submitted sooner if everything hadn't fallen apart on my first movie...
Reasons being: It was a much larger endeavor than I previously thought, the effects weren't working out, certainly was not prepared for how difficult the children were going to be to work with... basically I just couldn't get things together and ran out of time.

Anyway, rather than bow out gracefully, I shot this on the fly and
haven't slept in a few days to get this up here on time haha .

"Sit, Stay, Trapped... in the Twilight Zone!"

Synopsis:

"Jerry Osterman is the spoiled son of a well-off veterinarian but unlike his father, Jerry would rather harm then help. Little does he know he's about to be trapped, trapped in a cage with locks forged... in the Twilight Zone."

Jerry wakes up one day to find himself trapped within a cage, with no way out and no idea who's holding him captive.

Shot on a Panasonic AG-DVX100
W/ actors no one has ever heard of.

Here's some stills:

Hope this isn't a movie that PETA's gonna get on your butt about.

Otherwise, lookin' good. Congrats on getting it in, despite the first movie falling through.

Good luck. Looking forward to this.

Good flick! That kid was great. You nailed the theme for sure. There was some strange compression issues going on with movement. but the B&W was perfect. It looked old. great job. good flick. Great music too, Just close enough to the original where it gave me the vibe.

Great music, love the B&W footage. The narrator at the beggining reveals the whole plot, but still, the ending is great.

I didn't understand why the dog was in the cage in the first place. If the kid needed to put it there because of giving him the medication and stuff, ok, but I don't know ANY dog lover who has the dogs INSIDE the house in CAGE.

Compression issues, yes-tto bad. There's a lot of that stuff-not that it spoils the general idea, but still.

And the acting of the 'kid' was great. He really got some style, yelling sounds realistic, and that end part, where he goes crazy is well played. Oh and the cage he got himself into has some pretty visible duck tape parts and stuff. Since whole thing was B&W, maybe you just needed to choose the same or likely colors, in the final that wouldn't be noticeable (unless you wanted those to be seen).

Keep up!

If only it was just a compression issue, there was an incredible amount of corruption on the tape that I found out about when I went to uploaded it but by then I was just like "Do the best you can, get it in"

Regardless, I'm glad you really felt the Twilight Zone vibe and enjoyed it.

O.K., first I have to say...good effort in getting this together and entered on such a short schedule. That said, I'm going to step up on my soapbox for a minute.

I know you didn't hurt any animals making this film...but I can't help but think there could have been a better / more creative way to treat the scene with the dog in the cage instead of scraping something across the cage bars and yelling in the dogs face, "Stupid Dog". Again, I hope that's your dog...and he knows you're just playing...but I have to say this scene really turned me off to the point of stopping the film. I had to make myself go back and watch because I made a personal commitment to view & comment on ever film in the fest. Please, consider your audience in the future, there are a lot of animal lovers out there. Done...Just had to get that off my chest. Thanks.

Now... I really liked the film (minus that scene...and the old lady should have kicked your ass with that cane!). The B&W worked great. The score did the trick too. Video was messed up and looked interlaced. Other than that...very good job!

Keep up the good work & lets hope you don't decide to work with children anytime soon!
