C300: C300's front foot plate preventing Zeiss CP.2's to be firmly mounted on lens support

On the C300 the Zeiss CP.2's cannot be attached to the rods with a regular Zacuto 1/4 20" lens support as the camera's front "foot" prevents/stops the support from sliding directly under the lens' screw mount.
The CP.2's need an extra mount when used with a follow focus to avoid swinging up and down - especially true for my 100mm which rocks up and down when pulling focus due to a stiff focusing barrel.
Zacuto sells a terribly overpriced off-center micoradapter called Zian that costs as much as the lens support itself ($180, anyone?) so I made a small plate myself and fixed this problem. It is not beautiful, but it does the job.
Two 1/4 screw mounts were drilled into the plate, one for the rod and the other (with screw) for attaching under the lens.

Please see the photo below. Suggestions welcome.

It's not PL mount. It is EF mount. The mount is not the main problem though. It is the momentum when pulling focus. This is for extra stability, otherwise Zeiss would not have put the support there...

I see. Bummer the lens moves with a follow focus. Is your follow focus pretty tight/dampened? I have the CP.2 in a PL mount and never experienced this before but I also dont have the PL mount C300. I used it on a AF-100 with a PL adapter.

yep, that's some strange & very stupid issue. i also had some rental EF CP2's on an EF-mount C300, that definitely were not utterly tight. i used heden motors with remote focus and you could see the lens moving a little bit up and down in fast focus pulls. and this happened with the 35mm and the 25mm.

but i'm not sure, if it's the zeiss lens mount or the C300 mount which is not tight enough.

still, EF-mount is not the best way in cinema work.

It's the EF mount.
The tolerances are just not there.

The other way to get around this is just to use your mattebox with a 114mm clamp.

Use this & forget moving/shaky lens. This support is perfect for the situations where you find the lip of C300 coming in way of lens support of Zeiss CP2.
