C300iii and Servo lenses

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks for all the valuable contributors on here.

I’ve got a C300iii on order for an upcoming job and have just noticed that it has no 12-pin lens power outlet on the body (only on one of the expansion units).

So to Those that have used cine servo lenses with the C300iii, is that the only way to power the servos - by using the expansion pack - or are servo motors powered through the PL mount somehow?

Thanks in advance…

I have the same(or similar) cable that Eric linked to, for using my 17-120 and ENG lenses with my OG C300(EF). My F55 can do power and comms/data through its PL mount, but I don't know if Canons can(I don't have a PL version to test).

I use a p-tap to 12-pin cable. One I have also has a branch for lanc.

Same here. Two cables, one just plain old P-tap to Hirose lens 12 pin and the other Hirose 12 power pin to Hirose 12 pin lens connector plus it also has a Lanc cable with plug for cameras that have Lanc ports enabling you to stop-start recording using the record button on the lens servo.

When I used the CN7 zoom and motor I also had a similar cable.

It is worth noting..

1) 2/3 lenses wont cover a large chip camera without an adapter of some nature (obvious I hope!)

2) I dont think the camera has a power out put so you will be running this from some external power source like a Vlock with multiple d tap outputs.

Thanks all.

Any idea whether auto iris on the body is enabled simply by powering the lens (through mount info), or is it probably going to have to be manual?

Thanks, will be using S35 cine servo.

Yes, have d taps on battery plate.
