C300: C300 MKIII shipping delays?

uuhh seems that is a rare case where good ole Europe was delivered primarily.
I got mine on June 19 but it was probably the 1st one in Germany.

Nice, how are you finding it so far?

Love it. It’s my first Canon C series. The AF was my main reason to switch brand and it is fantastic. I like the colors but they were very pleasing from the EVA1 Varicam too. I have to get used to the location of audio controls and the loud fan. I miss a horizon level and I’d pay 500$ extra for an integrated electronic nd filter.

I wonder if it's any louder than the fan in our C200? At least the exhaust won't be going into your ear like it does when shoulder mounting the C200. Great if you're shooting in the cold, it's like having
someone breathing in your ear. But when it's hot, it's torture. Did a shoot in Palm Springs two Summers ago, all day BTS and stand ups on a Hallmark movie and it was brutal, having hot air blown into your ear
when it's 110F out isn't fun.

I wish Canon would license the variable E-ND from the FX9, it's genius!

Got a call from DV Shop today, they're in! Apparently there were some quality assurance issues that had to be resolved, this is the official explanation anyways.

Thanks for the update Sean. I saw on DV Shop's instagram page that they have them in now! Made me think of you.

No idea how Canon Canada sent mine, don't have a tracking number or anything, so this is torture!

You can order directly from Canon Canada?

Hey Sean. Did you get your unit?

Turns out Canon sent my camera to the wrong address. Either a completely random location, or a different customer's address. They're still figuring it out.

This is my very first foray into ANYTHING Canon, and I don't like that it's starting with disappointment like this.

Holy s*%t, they sent it to the wrong address?? That's a colossal mess up. I hope they get that sorted for you asap. Really sorry to hear that.

As it happens I just received it today! I'm in Wiliam's Lake BC, living in a hotel for the next several weeks so I'm surprised I got it so quickly. As an aside I don't know if you've ever dealt with DV Shop but they're awesome, I try to throw them as much business as I can. Although it's not an official deal they gave me a free 512gb SanDisk card and reader (like with the C500) for buying through them, and then I got additional batteries added onto my 3 year lease with CBSC.

So far so good, I'm charging all the batteries so I haven't gone through the menus or anything yet, but I've setup the camera physically. Definitely going to buy the additional module with extra XLR's and Vlock, etc. The camera on its own is a really nice size for craddled shooting (which I prefer most of the time) but I can see how it would be perfect shoulder mounted configuration with that extra unit. The new monitor is a really nice size, it's a solid upgrade from my C300 MKII.
