C300: C300 MKIII shipping delays?

I'm not sure if there's anyone close to Canon on this forum that might be able to elaborate on this.

Currently waiting on my C300 here in Toronto, it was meant to have arrived a few weeks ago in June. The shop I'm ordering it through is as much in the dark as anyone else, it could be any day at this point or another month or two. So far Canon Canada hasn't provided an official arrival date.

If anyone has info to share it would be much appreciated!

I'm also in Toronto and awaiting delivery for my C300iii. The rep from Canon that I deal with (directly) wasn't able to give me any sort of updated timeline either. Was also told late-June early-July for delivery.

Fingers crossed they arrive quickly!
 
Canadians always seem to receive their cameras a bit later (at least on forums over the years).

Have you both ever experienced a longer wait time in the past?

Hope you get them soon!

I feel like Toronto gets things pretty promptly, there’s a big enough film industry here that we’re probably on par
With many American cities, but the rest of Canada I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. Getting things ordered from the US has become a bigger hassle these days though.
 
Hope you guys get your cameras soon! Just curious, for both of you, are you working enough at the moment to justify buying a new camera? Was just curious how work is going in Canada?

In LA, it's a slow trickle of lower budget work but the majority still aren't working much, if at all.
 
It has definitely been quieter for the past few months on my end.

I'm just long... LONG overdue for a camera upgrade, and the C300iii has checked every box for me. Wanted to get it ASAP and learn how to get the most out of it.
 
In general the industry is moving slowly here although I lucked out having two larger film projects in the works pre covid so most of the funding had been secured in advance. Those two projects will pay for the c300mkiii.

I think small crews (under 10?) are able to operate in Ontario, or else that’s coming in our next phased reopening in the next month or so. Overall numbers are pretty low now, I think around 120 people a day for all of Ontario and close to 0 in many other provinces.
 
Glad to hear you are working Sean. KM, if I was buying a new camera today, it would 100% be the C300 MKIII, seems like it's the sweet spot for a mid range camera and I am so glad that it's NOT FF. The price and feature set look amazing.

Just got word from my Canon rep that they're starting to ship cameras out today. Hopefully both of ours are included in the first batch.

Thanks for the update! I'm dealing with DV Shop, I've been frantically emailing them with these updates to push things forward.

Got a call from DV Shop today, they're in! Apparently there were some quality assurance issues that had to be resolved, this is the official explanation anyways.
 
I bet you're excited to finally crack open that box...take each accessory out one by one...take in that new-camera smell.
