C300: C300 MK2 "freezes" in double-slot recording mode. What am I don't wrong?

I'm trying out double slot recording (A and B slots) to protect against card errors. I have cards in the A and B slots, switch the camera to "double slot recording - ON", then hit record. When I tried to end recording, the camera is unresponsive, even when turning the camera on/off dial the camera is unresponsive. The only thing I can do is pull the battery to restart the camera. This happened each time I tried dual slot. I tried a few different cards with the same result (SanDisk 128's). I'm shooting 12bit RGB 444. Any ideas??

I’m not a c300mk2 shooter but maybe a firmware update ( if possible) will iron out the bug.

If both cards are approved cards, the next thing I would do is bring the camera in to a Canon Service Center.

I hope it doesn't come to that but that might have to happen. I'm out in Syracuse, NY so with shipping i'd be out of my money maker for quite some time.

You most likely have two sandisk cards that are of different generations. Sandisk changed some internal architecture and it jams up the mk2 when you have one of each in the camera.

Use one card at a time until you can update firmware.

That's exactly what I had going on. New card in A slot, older card in B. Just did a firmware update. I'll see if this changes things...

Long shot here, check the record lock on the cards......

Didnt even know they had locks on those :) I think the issue was I had an older firmware installed that wouldn't allow me double record to an old generation Sandisk card and a new gen Sandisk card.
