That footage could have been shot by an amateur just grabbing the camera. Some nice night shots but the rest is just bad footage.

there's probably a pretty basic explanation as to why this footage doesn't look nearly as nice.
Ha ha - I don't think any explanation is necessary. I've seen bad footage from just about every camera ever released. This was obviously just grabbed in a short amount time without a lot of planning or careful composition/exposure. It really doesn't say anything about the potential quality of footage out of the cam, but it's interesting none the less.
By the time I get my hands on this camera I've spent weeks typing about it on my keyboard... instead of shooting.
Bad footage is always pointless if you try to show of a camera - and that's what we want![]()
You and me both. Wanna [man]hug it out?
I don't understand all the oohing and ahhing over that XXIT closing shot at Yosemite. Those mountains were seriously blown out.
Whoever wrote Canon's highlight handling code in their cameras, I want to buy them a beer or twenty. I just love how it looks.
Well these daylight exteriors are about as pedestrian as they come - even the opening shot of the Brighton Pier was about as unappealing as one could ask for - zero mojo, and forget the "vimeo compression"... I don't understand all the oohing and ahhing over that XXIT closing shot at Yosemite. Those mountains were seriously blown out.
Philip Bloom posted an initial "hands-on" with the C300 today. He says Canon is going to turn him loose with one in several weeks. That review will go a long way in helping form my decision on a C300 or F3.
