ReelSmart Motion Blur anyone??

Has anyone played around with a plugin such as ReelSmart Motion Blur (by the same people who bring us Twixtor) to reintroduce motion blur to d90 footege captured with higher than desirable shutter speeds? Just a thought as to how to rescue footage until Nikon gives us manual shutter speed control with the firmware upgrade:)

I haven't but it's crossed my mind recently. Keep us posted. The problem is that such techniques work the best when we need them the least and vice versa. :-)

It will give you an illusion of motion blur, but the blur you get aint that correct. Why not just use an ND-filter instead to get lower shutterspeed?

Ah--if only it was that simple!! The camera might just increase ISO instead of dropping the shutter speed by putting an ND filter over the lens. I know that others are currently trying to define a definite pattern for ISO/shutter speeds with the d90, but right now it isn't clear to me.

i've used it for other things and it actually gives you real motion blur, not just an illusion (aside from the fact that all motion blur is an illusion). depending on the subject it can be perfectly "correct", but you're right it doesn't always work, far from it.

I use it a lot, and it actually works. Mostly we use the plugin when we do greenscreen and don´t want to have any motion blur in our source material. We simply add it in post after the keying process. But I haven´t played around with it on d90 footage. But it should work great.
