Excuse me if this has been covered before but I did some searching and didn't find anything.
There has been discussion of c-mount zoom lenses for use with the GH2 teleconversion feature, as a way to achieve a constant f2 or better. The main problem with this approach has been that you can't go very wide with these, since even a zoom starting at 8mm is only a 21mm when you use the 2.6x teleconversion, and ones that start at 6mm are all designed for 1/3" chip cameras and thus still vignette even with the teleconversion cropping.
But what about using a c-mount zoom with a high-quality wide-angle converter? Has anyone tried this? You lose a stop or so, but with an f1.8 lens or faster you'd still have a pretty fast lens. For example, there's a Canon 12.5-75mm f1.8 c-mount advertised right now on e-bay. With a .5x wide angle converter, that's 6.25-37.5mm, which is about 16-100mm with 2.6x teleconversion.
So, has anyone experimented with this? I guess one problem would be that the lens would be front-heavy..
