C mount adapter to Canon 60D - Destroys or hits glass or no glass issue???

I've seen some old school lenses on ebay that have c mount lenses. In my research I've found posts saying that the C mounts hit and damage 60d etc and 5dmarkii glass at infinity. But then I found c mount adapters for Canon eos cameras. I also have found articles that point out that certain mounts, when adapted, hitt the glass of only the full frame Canon 5d Markii but not the canon 60d or 7d etc. I have a 60d so it looks like i may have nothing to worry about. Does any one have personal experience with this?

C-mount adapters for Canon EOS cameras are microscope adapters and do not focus to infinity. An adapter that did would hit the mirror on any of the Canons.

Most C-Mount won't fit on an EOS mount camera, the rear elements need to be fairly close to the sensor, and the 60D has a mirror in the way.

Short answer - on an EOS body, don't bother with C-Mount lenses, stick to M42, Nikon F-mount and Olympus OM-mount lenses.
