Buying an HVX200

Hey folks, first post here, but I have been reading and learning from this site for quite a while. We've done 2 shoots with the HVX and now we want to buy one. I'm looking for any suggestions for reputable dealers, average prices, good deals, etc. I found this site and I just know this cant be right. Are they just gonna take all my money, or send me a refurbed camera or what?

I'd also like to get any feedback on the Firestore. We used the 8gb cards on the other shoots, but the Firestore is looking alot more appealing to me, and I'd appreciate any comments on usability, performance issues, any potential problems to be aware of, etc..

Thanks in advance for any input..

do a forum search - we have covered ALL of this several times and in excrutiating detail... including THAT dealer

In reading and learning, the biggest first piece of knowledge is where to buy.

In all cases, the only election is Panasonic Authorized.

I don't mean to be pedantic, but if that price was legitimate, why wouldn't everybody be selling it at that price? It is 30% of what the lowest authorized dealer sells a HVX200 for. For those who didn't check the link, this little reputable 5 Star company is selling a brand new, US Warrantied HVX200 for about $1500.00.

Also, virtually every post indictes going to resellerratings.com to learn how the seller ratings.

If you did, you would learn that this company has a rating of:

.98 out of 10 -- one of lowest I've ever seen.

Just about every post states the company is a fraud.

Thanks for the responses.. I figured the stock response would be to search the forums, and I am... Just thought it would be nice to jumpstart the research with a few suggestions. As we all know, time is hard to come by, and it sometimes feels like wasted time spending hours reading through hundreds of posts to find what you are looking for.

So I will figure out where to buy the camera, and I'll search for comments on the Firestore, but if you read this and have any opinions on that topic, please share your experience.. thanks.

it will take you FAR less time to search the forum than it would for any of us to write a comprehensive response. the info you are wanting is super easily found here

It also takes time to retype what can be located with the search tool, or simply moving between threads on pages.

I don't mind helping, but come with questions after you've done the basic research.

An inquiry such as "I'd also like to get any feedback on the Firestore" can easily be addressed by typing "firestore" into the box.
