I'm going to upgrade my TRV-900 soon to a DVX100b. I'm in my final year of film school and I'm always lookin to save some cash. I've been watching e-bay and craigslist for a good used deal. So I know what they go for used and when I search google shopping I find lots of offers like this one:

That seems stupid cheap for that camera. How can they sell this for this cheap? Should I stay away from stuff like this.

stay away from those types of online stores that sell for very cheap. when you buy, its only a shell, no lens or electronics inside... i learned from experience. i bought a brand new hvx200a on one of those sites for 2,000 plus 8 p2 cards... etc, and when it arrived it was just he plastic shell and the p2 cards were plastic placeholders... buy from panasonic or a camera store because even ebay and craigslist people rip you off... a few years ago i got my vx2000 online and the guy said it was brand new, but when IT arrived its heads were so dirty it couldnt read tapes, it was all scratched up, it had error codes on the screen, the batery was dysfunctional and the mic was falling off... especially dont buy one if it shows the stock image of the camera like that one did...

Yeah.. Definitely a scam.

Funny thing is.. its the same company. They have over 20 other web sites with different names

Their approach is simple: When you purchase it on the web site, you usually receive an e-mail telling you to call them. When you call, you get transferred to a sales guy who gets you to buy accessories at over 300% of market value. If you decline, he cancels your orders or just hangs up.

This has been going on for 5 years already. I wish the BBB would do something.

u know wats funny...the amount of effort it takes these guys to do this they may as well just set up a legit company and be done.

it would be awesome to have the shell only of a camera you can do lots of stuff with it but not for $2200 why didn't you cancel your credit card transaction or something andythefilmer
