Brevis HVX200 frame grabs

Matt Gottshalk

Resident Preditor
First PAYING job with the Brevis.

Two interviews in an extremely small Florida Apartment for a pharmaceutical client.

NO chance of decent DOF w/o an adapter.

HVX200 with everything at 0, except for pedestal at -3 Bpress gamma (for life!) 720p24

135mm Nikkor f2 lens

Yes I know there are hotspots on the flower foil, I'll get rid of them in post.

... didn't speak Spanish as well as we were led to believe.....

Oh boy.
Having worked at a Spanish TV station at one point, you have no idea how much I can sympathize with that statement.
:)

The light looks nice in those grabs - looks like you did a damn nice job with such a tight space. But is it just me or are those stills a tad soft? Seems the Brevis should be capable of sharper focus.

M.Gee are you getting the Brevis Flip unit or the Letus Flip unit? Either one would probably do a world of wonder for the inherent softness exhibited. Especially on the right side of the frame with the flowers.

I know that it's out of focus, but you can see the glassy smear appearing, like someone wipes vaseline on your lens. It looked like the flip unit corrected that, which probably means the Achromat is a bit too close on the Brevis unit (seein as how the flip would push it away.).

Lighting looks nice!

Oh, and yeah. B.PRESS Kr3w FOR LIFE!

I have the Brevis, no flip yet, but its coming.

And, in full disclosure, I have ALSO bought and have just got a tracking # for the Letus Extreme as well..

It is a tad bit soft, I would have increased the light level more to stop down the 35mm lens a bit more if I were to do it again.

I am also ditching my Marshall HD monitor in favor of the Panasonic LH-80.

The focus in Red would have helped a LOT!

Lights were a Rifalight for the key, flexfill for fill, a pro light with snoot for the hair light, and a DP light with a cookie for the background.

It may be a little soft, but due to the moody lighting I´d rather call it glamour-soft;o)
Good job, pal!
