Breaking Bad

The episodes just keep getting more tense as they go along. I can't help to think that everything is going to come crashing down at the end of the season.

My wife and I had a baby in Feb, so my unhealthy devotion with television has been severely curtailed. Even with DVR, it's getting impossible to watch and pay attention to anything.

Breaking Bad however, is the one show that I am still 100% intrigued with and am still following religiously.

How about that scene with the turtle? Was that not one of the craziest things you've ever seen on TV?

Just when you think this show can't possibly have any more juice left in the tank, they throw another instantly classic character like Saul Goodman into the mix. And that whole concept of a guy who goes to jail as his profession was genius.

Saul kinda reminds me of Hank, in that he has a similar style of Hank's offensive sense of humor constantly spills out during normal everyday conversation. He is one of the only characters, besides Tortuga, to snap back at Hank.

Also, I loved Saul's office.

Did you catch what he was wearing when he rolled up to the scene? He already had his prison uniform on!

Bob Odenkirk is fantastic. How about the low-budg cable commercial? They didn't put a garbage matte on his green screen, now that's attention to detail.

Everything on this season is just so out of left field, yet I'm sure a lot of it is based on real life incidents.

Yeah, and Saul brings a new level to the growing drug empire. Also, I love how the guy who goes to prison just gets to his knees and puts his hands on his head as soon as the cops show up.

I think he put his hands up before they even got there! Hank seemed pretty suspicious of the whole thing.

I also love the "put a dollar in my pocket" bit. Out there in the middle of no-where facing these two criminals, he still insists on that bit of procedure. Nice touch to that character.

Just discovered this show 4 eps ago, and it ROCKS !! Way better than Mad Men which I tried to watch a few times but found MM talky and slow.

This is the opposite--nail biter all the way. The most recent, cooking & getting stranded in desert, was the best yet. It played like a Coen Bros movie. Genius.

Finally something to watch on Sunday nite ! Is the first season out on DVD ? I want it bad.

This was like their "Pine Barrens" episode. (When Pauly and Christopher got lost in the woods on the Sopranos.)

Another great one! Are we close to the finale yet? I hope season one comes out on DVD better yet Blu Ray.

As usual, another great episode. Mad Men season 3 better be at the tippy top of its game if it wants to stand up to this season of Breaking Bad.

Two really good shows so far from AMC. I can't wait for their remake of The Prisoner.

Deepfocus88 -- I don't know why, but they released Breaking Bad season one on DVD only, and not Blu-ray. I wonder why. Breaking Bad has great cinematography, especially for a TV series. It looks stellar in HD on digital cable.

Cannot process how good this season is.....systems overload.

Another slow burn episode this week.

This prelude thing they've been doing, it just seems to bode worse and worse. And who's under those body tarps?

This is literally the only show that I watch religiously. Sure I'll catch an epsiode of Scrubs or the Simpsons when I notice they're on, otherwise my TV is just background noise.

But come Sunday night, I'm glued to my set. I love this show.

Loved the chopped ice close-up. And the wobbly wheel in the contractor store.

Walter is a smart guy. So why did he correct a competitor's mistakes in the store and then later engage in a confrontation? Well, if he gets better and quits cooking, we're not going to stick around to watch the Whites eat breakfast every morning.
