C300: BP-955 / 975 Charger

We send our C300 PL's out with Dolgin Dual fast chargers. Probably not the cheapest option, but good for travel shoots in hotel rooms, besides on set.

Too expensive.
Looking for something relatively cheap. Under $100 for sure. Single charger is fine, dual would be a nice bonus.
But if I can get away with the cheap $5-30 chargers, I'd get those instead

I also have that Watson Charger. I haven't had any problems with a 955 and its charging plate. The plate for the LP-E6 has problems, though

I have that Watson charger as well, and I don't recommend it. It has trouble keeping connection, and the plastic mounting plate is quite fragile - one of them has broken and will not hold a battery in place any longer. It's ok if you're just going to leave it on your desk, but for travel or set durability, go with the Dolgen. Buy once, cry once.

Do you have a link to the charger? Not sure which one, nor how much it really costs.

I have both Dolgin and IDX dual chargers, and prefer the IDX - its a little faster on the charge it seems, and both are solid and have endured a lot of travel. Buy quality equipment because it lasts and is reliable. Its really awkward explaining to a client that you can't shoot because your battery charger fell apart.

I have a Dolgin 4-bay charger and it's great. I had gotten it during the brief time when I had a pair of 5DM3's and didn't like the Canon supplied charger.

What's nice with the Dolgin is that if you change cameras they'll swap out the bays to whatever you need. When I sold my 5DM3's I had Dolgin change the box to BP955 slots.

That is a nice option.

The one thing in your kit that can kill you is your battery charger! I once started a fire in my hotel room when my charger melted down on the sink in my hotel room. Whole thing melted the vanity and small flames flickered up. Since then I always place my charger on a metal case by the window, never between me and the door.

Anton Bauer used to have a bulletin board where they posted pictures of exploded and fire damaged chargers when customers modified battery cells themselves or used off brand batteries. Chargers look benign but if you think about it they can overheat, malfunction and kill you or burn down a location.

I would think looking around for the CHEAPEST, probably something from China, and mixing manufacturers is a recipe for disaster don't you? Think about going to bed with your cheap Chinese charger on when you go to sleep. Scary...

The Canon C300 ships with a CA-930 charger and the CA-940 power suppy.

Canon doesn't make a dual battery charger for the BP-9xx batteries.

If you need a double or quad charger, Swit & Dolgin are the best choices.

I like my IDX and also have the Dolgin Dual charger. the IDX is my go to but the Dalgin can have the battery trays switched out in the future if I go to another battery type.

Hi,
Any one used a cheap general charger for the bp-955 - 975 ? with good results ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quick-Batte...2be14fb&pid=100005&rk=3&rkt=6&sd=231069308586

There are several like those, but they don´t have the 4 contact connections charging points, just 2. They still work?

What are the diferences for the 4 to 2 conetions on the genuine canon CA-930 chargers and the generic ones.

Just like to have a cheap spare charger on my car for my c100

Thanks

Pedro
