FEATURE: blackhats - Another Reel One Entertainment Movie

Is there a market for action figures for something like this? Is it even worth doing market research to answer that question? Gotta monetize any way you can these days, s'all I'm sayin' :)

Well, that might be too presumtious. Folks have actually been asking about the hats so that might be a possibility for ancillary revenue.

Just realized that two of my cast are nominated for awards at the next film festival PVIFF:

PVIFF Best Actress Nominees:
-Nadej Bailey- "The Productive Lie"
-Doris Morgado- "blackhats"
-Kyra Korchak- "The Shattered Mind"
-Mandi Christine Kerr- "Todd a...nd Anne: Water In The Pot"
-Melanie Richardson- "MisQues"
-Bria Murphy- "Conflict of Interest"
-Jazsmin Lewis- "Conflict of Interest"

PVIFF Best Actor Nominees:
-David Juergens- "Bottled Up"
-Tucker Smallwood- "The Watch"
-Navid Negahban- "Valiant"
-E. Roger Mitchell- "blackhats"
-Tony Vaughn- "The Productive Lie"
-Gbenga Akinnagbe- "Knucklehead"
-Shaun Woodland- "Debt to Society"

pretty cool

Those are limited edition. We might begin selling hats with the release.

Doris is great. She's in LA now.

Quick update.

Our next festival appearance will be in Atlanta at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival on September 19th:

More news to come.

I'll keep my eyes open for them if you do.

She's easy on the eyes and has a nice accent. I'm sure that those two actresses in Austin alone could get people to open their wallets.

I meant the actresses that attended the fest with you all would get guys to buy.

Do you know of any recordings of the QandA session for your screening?

You might've covered this in your blog but how far back does the relationship go with E. Roger Mitchell? I think I remember him in Chocolate City or How I Spent My Summer Vacation in the 90s.

There was a lot of coverage at the festival, even the Q & A, just need to find the right person who has the footage.

Doris and Cheri are great and we've got more great women in the cast as well as good guys too.

Here is an outside the box story about #blackhats that talks about my writing and producing partner Eddie Singleton.

The PR person at the CCBFF in Austin was fascinated by his practice of remaining anonymous. He notoriously avoids set photos and in our production notes, he's the only one without a photo (beats my terrible pics I always say).

Anyway, thought it was pretty cool that even our Anonymous team guy is getting shine for this movie.

We were at Dragon*Con over the weekend promoting #blackhats to the folks there. See some pics of me interacting with some Cosplayers here: https://www.facebook.com/blackhatsmovie

A major announcement soon.

Meanwhile, we screen at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival Sept. 19th at 4:30pm and The Action on Film Festival Sept. 23rd at 4pm. So folks in Atlanta and Los Angeles, please be ready to check it out.

Thanks,

Martin

We're having the cast and crew screening tonight...can't wait to get the gang back together again for that.

Then we'll make another announcement. So please stay tuned.

And thanks to all who have followed this thread and especially the contributors!

Had a great time at the cast and crew screening last night.

Fun to get the cast and crew and family members together in a theater to eat popcorn and watch the movie.

The response was great (I should hope with the home court advantage) and similar to the Austin Premiere in terms of how it felt like it played with the audience which is encouraging.

Actors all seemed happy with how they came across onscreen which is always a relief.

Fun night.

We made an announcement about the release that I'll share soon.

Meanwhile check out this nifty page from one of our actors who dissects the whole blackhat vs. blackhats situation nicely.
