The opening camera work blew my mind.
Anyone feel like this was "The Wrestler Part II: for Girls!"?
The The movie is an instant classic. Very grainy for my tastes, but excellent performances by all. Portman should win the Oscar, no questions asked. Fantastic movie.Trailer for Darren Aranofsky's next film, set in the world of ballet dancers. Looks like a version of a story I've seen before (the star threatened by the young understudy), but seems interesting nonetheless. What is going on with Natalie Portman's back?

Although I liked the film, especially the last dance sequence, am I the only one who thought there was TOO MUCH hand held camera work? Wouldn't the subjective point of view have had greater impact had it been contrasted with more static or at least non-hand held shots? Balancing the subjective and objective points of view successfully can be a difficult thing to achieve...
just my 2 cents worth...
