Odd.. click the link and it works.. Going to figure out how to embed vimeo..

*edit.. ok i got it now..

Yea, there we go.

Damn, ISO 1600? That's the problem with a lot of venues like that, with no back or house lights other than obnoxious strobes and effect lights. You probably could have taken the ISO down a bit, because the subject here is a little hot in some places, but he'd still stand out with a little less exposure; all we really gain from the increased ISO is an outline of the guys in the background, like the dude with the MacBook.

I don't like rap, but for some reason I liked this...dunno...

Yea lighting wasnt my friend that evening, but considering I think it was ok. Unfortunately 800 would have been to dark as i was already wide open on the lens. I figured since this was only for web, it would have been acceptable. After looking at this + the original, the compression was pretty bad (not to mention the size w/ the black around it) as the colors on the car is washed out. O well, its a quick clip.. i'll do better on the next one.

I welcome any suggestions, albeit good or bad.

*not about the song itself as that isn't something I control ;)

Let me put some money in your pocket......

Get a wider lens, get an on camera LED & finally don't be scared to interact with the artist. Now if you follow these rules you will have some great footage, because the way it is now it just doesn't look right nor interesting.

Thanks life4eva.

Understood. I did have a ring light, which I've noticed didnt give enough distance. So I am looking for an additional decent light w/o being blinding. Any suggestions?

In regards to the WA, I agree, but I didnt have one that could open up ~2 since it was pretty dark. So I've op'd to get the 16mm from the previous thread which opens to 2.8. I'm hoping that'll give me enough coverage and open up enough to suck in enough light :)

*cough.. now how much money you planning on putting in my pocket? ;)

Well just by me making a thread regarding that 16mm has just eliminated some money from my pocket if you go an buy it and we work side by side. What will make us stand apart?

You need to understand how things work. If you use a wider lens and are therefore able to get closer to a subject then you do not need that much light. Also who cares if you blind the artist, they always wear sunglasses anyways.

This is your art, your love, your passion. Don't let anyone stop your mission!
Also I know exactly who Billy Blue is & more specifically the excellent Music Video that was shot for that song

That is whats up Life4eva.. I appreciate the input and you creating that thread :)

I shot a bunch of B-roll friday as it was a gucci mane concert (who didnt show so I left before the crowd found out) but I wanted to throw up a quick video shortly after the event.

Thats the original.. trying to sync the audio was a pain. I just wanted to slap something together as I learn the tools of the trade. :)
