Big storms...

We had another crazy night here last night too!~

It's getting hard to get a regular night's sleep... a few times the lightening was cracking so loud it sounded like dynamite going off in the backyard. I typically love storms, but I hate getting the "heart attack" wake-up call from the loudest sound you ever heard... and then waking up to hear wind and rain driving so hard it that it sounds like an asphalt grinder is blasting rock against the side of the house :) That makes it pretty hard to get back to sleep as you debate "hmm... grab a pillow and sleep on the cement in the basement?"

I love witnessing the power of mother nature... but man, this spring has altered my previously naive perception of what we're really dealing with. My brother used to constantly tell me how he wanted us to be storm chasers... and now we're mostly hoping we can get through the storm season w/o any serious problems or house damage.

Crazy. Stay safe guys.

I actually have two local buddies who are with a storm chasing group right now. They were in Oklahoma last night and witnessed some incredible action.

I'm down the road in Columbia. We had another crazy one today - lots of rotation in the clouds as the initial front blew through.
These were around 2:15 pm CT today.
